Guys what's involved in changing the side mirrors over from the small ones to the bigger ones? Is it a straight swap or what? Also what would one pay for them? Dude on eBay wanted like $90! F that? There's nothing a carty won't settle!

I have done the conversion!! There isnt much i havent done to my 60 apart from springover....but that can always be fixed!
It is a straight simple swap. Remove two screws from old mirror on door, then attach new mirrors in place. They fit on the factory bolt pattern.
$90 is about right for a brand new pair of mirrors. I take it you are referring to the guy that is always selling fj62 mirrors on Ebay? They are not the electric style, which is exactly what you are after. Just something to replace the small round mirrors, with a larger 62 series style rectangular ones.
Good luck trying to find some.

I bought fake ones that are still good for $70 ea. the idea was to fit them to a 70 series but its going to take too much stuffing around.
PM me if you want them. They take around 2 min to change over

Get genuine if you can ($$), the glass in the fake ones wobble too much.

I should start a stump carts thread then. Is the only way to make the fuel sender more accurate to replace it? I looked oer mine 100 times and I swear there is no whole. I cleaned up the conacs and nothing has really worked.

I liked the idea of the bigger ones, and when i bought my 60 i had a big one on the passenger side, and a little one on the drivers side. The only reason i snapped off the bigger one off and put on another little one was cuz of the fact that the glass wobbled around like a mofo when driving
So genuine is the way to go, hmm?
Cheers!

Righto guys bit the bullet today and bought the bigger mirrors. Some one was kind enough to snap off my drivers side mirror on Saturday night.

Went to All Four x 4 Spares today at Kotara and they were $45 each. Got the pair for $80. I'll have pics up soon, they do look pretty good! Joel
