Diagnosing Diff Noise

1989 GQ.

I know its pretty hard to diagnose a noise over the internet.
But, just roughly, some one may have a hunch what part of the diff is knackered or needs adjustment.

The symptoms:
Driving at 100km/h, diff starts to wine, wines under load and on engine braking, but not when in between.
Only noticeable between 95 and 110km/h

Seems to be slightly more lash on the diff than there used to be.

It has a 100mm lift, so the pinion angle has been increased slightly, the oil looked good, but put new oil in anyway

So is is more likely to be bearings, or crown wheel and pinion adjustment??

Or what>?

Cheers,
Pete.

Mint.

I ran it for a few hundred K's after the lift before i got my adjustable uppers.

I guess it could have run dry.

Will have to get the work shop bible out ;)

Cheers,
Pete.
