if the origional engine in the lux was a 3L then you have a G52 box which are relitively weak (so im told) and according to what i have read on this site, a fair guess is that pushing 35's and a three-fiddy you will chew boxes like a porn star...

you should get a turbo 700 or the likes, or if ya want a manual, tray for a R151 from a supra / V6runner

don't quote me on this tech, this is from what i have read. someone will correct me if i'm wrong, but thats a start.

good luck ;)

A G52 if in good condition to start with will last if you don`t drive like a dickhead. It all comes down to how you drive, you can drive a rig hard but still do it in a way that is easier on the drive train and make parts last. If you do things like drop the clutch when changing gears then yes it will blow up.

As Guts said, if you treat it right a G52 will last (a few mates have been running V8's in front of these boxes for YONKS with no dramas)
I run the R151 behind mine and all is fine.
