Tyres on GU

Post by vignalem »

Have just bought a 2004 GU wagon 3.0 TD

Am putting new tyres on (285/75/16) but not sure of expected mileage comparison between muds and A/T's. Obviously muds look better but if the mileage is bad I will go for AT's. Mostly highway driving.

Any thoughts

What other type of driving do you want to do?

Most 4WD's do a majority of their KM on the road, the type of tyre is generally dictated by the remainding amount of off road driving.

Eg 90% road 10% fire trails AT's should be fine

90% road 10% thick Mud MT's would be the way to go

The BFG Mud terrains seem to wear fairly well on the road, not too noisy. The Goodyear MTR's are in a similar class however i think they have better on road manners than the BFG.
