Ok - before I get flamed for putting what may seem like a yot question up on nissan thread - read it before igniting please ;)

After looking at a SOA truck today (MK SWB Patrol) it had a 304 injected holden V8 with turbo 700 box mated to an L28 transfer case (non divorced style).

My question is - 1) are these available still? I looked on MArks site but to no avail but is there some where else that may do it? Possibly Castlemain?

Question 2) If not available, will the divorced petrol transfer stand up to the job? I am thinking of just using a supercharger on a V6 ecotec from a VS commodore with extractors n exhaust?

Question 3) What are the tojo 60 series transfers like ? They still make the kit to adapt it to the turbo tranny and the output shafts seem to com e out in the right location (roughly) I know you would need to mod your drive shafts etc but with all the other work I don't really mind hey.

ANy help from anyone who knows someone who has done or used these kits would be great....

I fitted a t400 to mine and had to cut 50mm off the output shaft of the auto. With the auto and adapter in it added 300mm to the length of the engine/gearbox/transfer combo over the old 4sp. I ended up moving the engine forward 100mm and transfer back 200mm as with the swb the rear driveshaft would have been too short. The crossmember had to be moved under the gearbox to allow for front driveshaft due to transfer moving back. Adapter cost $900 and he quoted about $50 frieght from memory. It is a very solid unit. Also had to make a new transfer lever setup.

Yeah I know - looked at it but 2 things wrong with it in my eyes and 1 in yours.

1) not SOA
2) Tiny rubber and got limited budget.

Your 1) after 12 months the skulls so nicely air brushed on it would be screaming - to get off!!! I couln't live with myself for trashing such artwork - and I would end up trashing it.....
