few questions about explorer springs in the rear like pos had in his truck
what year model do they come from?
does the rear shackel mount have to be moved?
how much lift do they give with 2" longer shackels?
how much travel do they give?
does anyone have any they want to sell, or know somewhere to get them?

i beleive the entire setup from the old POS is for sale ??

Rear shackle mounts stay (if you are tray back - you just move the diff 4" forward therefore shortened rear shaft), if you combine this with yn65 rears in the front also moves the front 4" forward ( heaps better weight transfer) & 2" front mount lift = approx 5" lift and nearly 45"+ of travel. All for about $200 if you shop around... Ride is awesome better than most coilys, just gotta fork out for 9012's all-round.
The rears are also mixed with ifs rears to "stiffen" them up....HAHAHA
Best thing about the Explorers is the bushes, they have so much travel that the spring will actually bind up in the mount ( we ground back some width on the eye). Front are also mixed but if i told you i would have to kill you

personally, i would locate the diff where it would be from the factory and run a buggy or double shackle in the rear, i believe that the springs are 56inch long so you will have to still remount the front hanger, but they do fit into toyota hangers.

Off the topic, but i was at toyota the other day and they sell the hangers for 65each after the great debate that we had on the fact that they werent made any more.

Anyway, move your rears to the front like greg said and this will stretch your wheel base, what greg said will leave it standard with better approach and break over angles, but then it is all personal opinion,

I know Surfers 4x4 has alot of these springs and they are 120 a pair, but seriously price them from ford as they might not be much more, or get a set of 2 inch kings explores as they well be factory rates with more arch, it will change the rate and flow of the spring but i dont think you will notice it that much.

so what year model am i after?
so if i want to keep the rear diff in stock location, do i have to use a double shackel or move the rear mount back like they do with chevies

Rears up front only move the axle forward 2-2.5 inches not 4 unless you move the front mounts forward or re-drill your perches.

Whats the difference between ln65 and yn65 hiluxs. My 85 single cab isa ln65 will this have the same length rears as the yn65 or are 65's longer cause they're dual/extra cabs or something?

They are the same spring in length just may have different amounts of leaves.

ok, is this info correct,
the springs are off a 91-94 model ford explorer, they are 57" long with the centre pin 25.5" from the front.
so to mount these i need to move the front hanger approx 5" forward and the rear hanger 4" back to keep the diff in stock location, or can i redrill the centre hole and move the front hanger 9" forward?
will a trac bar be required with these springs?

p.s. this car is a dd so it still needs to drive fairly well.

there is a place in sydney that has them, they wreck american inports, they wanted 700 a pair when i checked up so it would be cheaper to have a set made.

did you happen to get a part number for these?

no i didnt, i just asked him for a price and availability on 85-88 hilux rear front hangers, he said yeap not a worry 65 each out of melbourne.

What's it cost to ship to you guys? I can get as many springs as you want! At about 30 bucks a set (US dollars)! Guys around here use Chevy half ton rear springs and move the front hanger forward about 10", makes for a real soft ride great flex and an instant three inch lift! 8)

Thats cheap, Ive already got 63" chevys, but am keen for a spare set as I am worried about kinking the main leaf just behind the front hanger, matter of fact one of em already looks a tad kinked. they are an awesome spring but.

whats the weight of a set of chevys ??? just trying to work out home shipping costs, also whats ya zip code ?

i got au falcon springs in the rear but they the same as explorers. i redrilled the centre pin so it was in the centre of the eyes and moved my front mount forward i cant remember how far i think it was 8.25" the flex good but give u heaps of bodyroll

James may be taking mine out in a couple of weeks for some additional work on the rear, if you are interested can measure em then.

Ok here's my zip code 83687, not only could I get you springs but just about any other US part you want(within reason), it's your money after all! 8) The bigger the part the more it will cost to ship!
