By the looks of it, I will be buying an MU this or next weekend.
So can anyone recommend a place in Sydney to take the MU for a service?? I'd prefer to take it to someone who has done a few MU's before?
I'm located in Sydney. Any suggestions??

G-day I don't know where to take it because I have always done all my servicing (and not in Syd)... and found out the first time that my 2.8 dosn't have the same filter as the rodeo... so it took a little while and a lot of stuffing around to find out that it was the same as the 3.1td filter from the jackaroo which is bigger!! And other than that oil is the same as rodeo, wheel bearings are the same as jackaroo or the front ones rodeo/jackaroo same same!! gearbox and diffs same as rodeo, brakes same as 1991 jackaroo (because of the leaf springs in the rear). thats about the most of it...

Thanks Yarno.
I'll have to take note of what you just posted, as I will take it for a full service when I get it.
Gonna do the timing belt for sure as well.
I checked a 91 model 2.8L out and the fellow is a back packer, willing to sell it for pretty cheap, less than $9,000!!
But he has travelled 15,000km (interstate) without a service. The red light for the timing belt on the dash is lit, and he has driven atleast a couple of thousand km's since the light has appeared.

Tino,
Sounds like a good deal for under 9k
Just make sure you service it straght away, and change the belt within the next thousand k's and it should be sweet.. BTW how many k's does it have on it?
Cheers
