The Panhard Rod Bushes on the front and rear of my old patrol (has a 2" Coil Lift) are a bit knackered so i have been looking at getting them replaced.
However I have been offerred a set of new Rockcrawler Adjustable Panhards rods for $200.00 so have decided to get these and put them in rather than mess around with the bushes or pay a mechanic to replace them.
Are there any things i need to watch out for when installing these?
It looks like an incredibly simple job, but murpheys law generally dictates that the simple things in life turn out to be a pain..so just checking..
Also if anyone wants a set of panhard rods for a GQ Patrol let me know as i wont be needing the old ones...

Th GQ is an 89 Model (Date of Manufacture 3/89) if that helps.
The steering damper is the eye one.

You have too make sure that the panards adjust down far emough to suit your two inch lift or just put in a bigger lift.

I thought about that, according to the manufacturers of the springs (lovells) these rods should be ok with the 2" Lift, in fact they recommend them.
As for the extra Lift..I have been toying with the idea of putting a 1" or 2" body lift in and running 33's on it so this is one part that will be ready to go if/when i get around to that.

a body lift wont affect the panhard rod at all

Measure from inner tyre edge to chassis both sides 1st.
Fit bars and adj so they are the same. IF the difference side to side is more than 6 to 10mm adj new panhrds to pull closer. Keep ratio front to rear the same so 4bee still tracks the same. If you put in a different offset steering wheel will be offset too ulness you use an adjustable steering arm too.

Thanks Guys. Picked up the panhard rods last night, and put them in this morning.
Measured each side first and adjusted them up. Was as easy to install as i hoped, only catch was i had to buy a open-ended ring spanner to fit the large nut on the rods.
Only problem now is..you cant really see the new rods under the car

i am sure the ring spanner worked a charm on those big nuts
