You need spark, fuel, compression and timing for it to run. Is the fuel getting through the carby? Try spaying a liitle engine start in the carby. Does it then run? What's the compression like? As been asked, have you altered the timing? Not just ignition timing but cam timing can also cause problems.

even if the timing was off a bit it would still start just run like crap
you sure its getting fuel in the carby try taking tennis racquet off and pulling the throttle on if it squirts petrol you are getting it in there and have you checked to see if the spark is getting to the plug

Try tightening the round ends on the top of the plug they come loose and hinder spark getting through

Is the anti-diesel solinoid on the carby jammed so there is no fuel flow at idle ??
Have a mate fire start ya bastard down the carb while you crank. If it fires then there is a fuel problem.

depends on where your checking the spark from. some people may only check the coil.

But if the dizzy dont spin, there is nothing to collapse the coil to produce a spark ...
