Toyo,
Just had a 2" body lift engineered. Went to Lakesedge Engineering Services at Wyong (Kevin Humphrey) he is one of RTA's engineering signatories, he is listed on the RTA web page.
I just rolled up at his door, It took him 15 minutes to go over the ute, 20 minutes to write up the report and he slugged me $165. He has an awsome workshop but currently specialises (with his son) in the compliance checking for tyhe RTA... nice guy too, bit ecentric but what do you expect with someone that used to build race cars.
It then cost ... I think 50 bucks or there abouts to take the ute to a blue slip inspection station for them to view the engineering report, verify it was for my vehicle and give me a blue slip.... then 20 minutes in line at the RTA at no charge, armed with the blue slip, the original of the engineering report, and my rego papers (this took the longest as the dude at the RTA had no idea what he was doing).
So in my repect... it cost all of $215 and all up probably 2 hours of my time.
I guess that the engineering charges are subjective and defined by the engineer. Pre body lift I was speaking to Nick Mannell who told me I may be up for $600 for an engineering report wich in my case was prohibitive and thus delayed my lift. I downloaded the engineering signatories list from the RTA and rang around. Spoke to the engineers what I wanted, theyt gave me ball park pricing and told me what they would and would not touch.
Which comes to my next statement. Every one of them that I contacted gave an out right "NO" to extended shackles. It seems that on this point the RTA are black and white... no extended shackles.
Ultimately.... download the list..

it is in PDF format .. and let your fingers do the walking. I do not think any one on the forum, unless they are one of the signatories, can give you a definative price as they are, as I stated, totally subjective.
Oh... by the way.. I asked Kevin Humpheries about the supposed rule changes and he was not aware of any at the time... this was last month.
Cheers
