Dear Guys

Hi to all jeepers I bought recently a brand new TJ 05 model. 6 cylinders Manual transmission. I bought an Old Man Emu suspension (2 inch lift). I want to ask if any one install an OME before on a TJ. If yes I would like to know your comments.

Moreover, I m planning to buy tires and rims. But I m confused between 31.5/10.5 or 32.11.5. If possible to know your comments concerning rims

I will be waiting eagerly your reply.

Thanks you

Yep, I put the OME kit on mine about 3 years ago and it was the best $$$ I have spent! The flex and ride quality on and off road was a huge improvement! Make sure you install the transfer case spacers to eliminate vibes, otherwise an easy fitment.
I run 31/10.5/15 no problems (infact you can run these with stock suspension), but any bigger and you need to comtemplate diff ratios. If you go 11.5 wide, you would need to look at flares as well as they will stick out, and unless you use different offset rims, probably rub on full turn/travel.

Anyone else?

I had stock suspension running 31x10.5 and they were rubbin on full lock. rubbed goin off road to.
i am now running the 3.5" RE lift wich is pretty similar to the 2.5" OME
i installd everything myself and was easy, saves a lot of $$$

Ike the amount of lift has NOT bearing on the rubbing on the control arms at full lock...thst is determined by the offset of the rims ad the adjustment of the steering stops.
As for the OME kit - it's a fine entry level kit.

U will be very happy with 31x10.5 and the ome kit. I ran this set up when i first brought my jeep, infact i still run it, just with different size tyres.
If u havent picked up the kit yet ask for the longer shocks, they are the same part number but just have a L an the end. they will fit and will give u more flex when off road with the sway bar disconected.
The 31s will fit and work fine on your stock rims. With the money u save on rims u could buy a locker for the front or some sway bar discos and have a very good 4x4, depending on what type of 4x4 u are into that is. Unless u are buying rims for the look, thats cool to.

wider & less aggressive tyres are better for sand if that's what you do mainly.

I run the 2.5" OME with Rancho shocks. I've done about 7000klm since i fitted it 6 months ago. For the past 2.5 years i've run stock suspension with 31's.

The main reason i went for a lift was to get the arse and t-case off the ground a bit as it was dragging in the sand tracks up the beach, especially when i was towing a trailor. The lift has solved the problem, but the kit came with a rear trackbar relocation bracket and it's a real pain in the butt, my tyre rubs on it so i may remove it in the future.

At 90-110kl/h i get driveline vibes when accelerating but eh, it's a jeep - it's supposed to vibrate... :D

As for tyres, i ran 31x10.5 BFG AT's and now i run 31x10.5 MTRs and the mtrs are a better tyre in all terrains particularly dirt roads, bitumen and sand.

I have a friend who runs a dealership, They say if u run a lift & bigger tyres, Unijoints are not covered, but thats about it.
