Problem with Rockhopper install

Ive just installed a set of rockhopper gears, had no problems with getting them in, but after I put the transfer case back together I couldnt shift into two wheel drive. I can shift from 4H to 4L and back, it engages easily and the gears turn smoothly.
I think that the bigger gears might be getting in the way of the shift fork preventing engagment of 2WD. Ive heard that the shift fork may also need some grinding back, but its hard to see where the contact is. I dont know if this is the actual problem or if its just something else ive stuffed up
Any help or advice would be much appreciated
Cheers

the case will need some grinding to clear one of the gears ive heard...
your best bet is to call liam @ bigballs offroad and ask him.. as he supplies those gears.

i have put in the marks gears and they definitely need a big slice cut out of the fork. seeing as the gears are very similar ratio to the rockhopper i would assume they need the same. the marks gears have a diagram in the instructions showing how much to grind out.

I have recently fitted a set of Gearmaster gears, if you need I can send you the installation instructions showing the areas to grind, I imagine it would be simillar to Rockhoppers.
As Wendle said you definitely have to grind the fork.

That might be another reason to consider those other lower reduction kits.
Hmmm.. chopping into the shift fork too? Not good.
