is there any concerning deifference between a Petrol and Diesel turbo, was given a turbo from a 300zx but have been told will not operate correctly on my TD42, is this an issue?

Size of impellers may be the issue. The exhaust turbine may be to large for your diesel. ie the Zed may flow more exhaust gasses than the diesel. Which would mean it would'nt spin fast enough.
Don't know for shore, only guessing.

isn't a z a 3lt twin turbo, so one turbo would fit a roughly 3lt diesel flow wise but the fan curves will not be right. personally i think you may gain a little down low but restrict above like 2500rpm.

MATE YOUR TURBO WILL ACTUALLY SPOOL UP TO QUICKLY AND OVER SPOOL!! DUE TO THE HIGHER DEISEL COMPRESSION. IVE BEEN DOWN THIS PATH AND PUT A LOT OF TIME IN WITH TURB SHOPS, SORRY DUDE BUT NO GO.
