thats about right mate.
what size tyres are you running?
If you can get 400 from a tank you are doing very well.

If urs in a v8 mines a v12.
About 10L/100k is about average.
aerodynamics of a brick does not help.
cheers

In my old coily I could JUST get 250km per tank. My new ride lwb on 32s does 4000rpm at 90k with a webber so im too scared to work out the consumption. lucky its not a daily driver.

i keep saying this over and over mine gets 1 litre to 11-12.5 km
making it in the 8.5-9L to 100km.
Let your sierras warm up peopple it makes a huge diff

Ok thanks guys...
Its completely stock...
Wow thats not what i expected... i came from a Mitsubishi FTO that did just over 10L/100km from a 2.0 v6, so i expected the 1.3l 4cyl to be much better than that.
Guess not!

as said above the aerodynamics on a sierra are pretty poor. also an fto has a much more modern fuel injected engine. The engine in a 1997 sierra is not much different to the one in a 1985 1.3ltr

yeah but you can flog a 1.3 all day in the bush and it costs $30, flog a v8 in the bush and its alot worse.
at least the 1.3 constantly drinks the juice because they constantly get abused and love it
a v8 might get those figure if your nice to it like granpa. but start floging it off every set of lights like 75% of 1.3's do and its alot worse.
the other 25% covers the old guys that put around ever so slow in suzuki's that won't sell it, because its the best and cheapest beach 4wd they could own.
disclaimer
sorry if your reading this and it describes you? but just flog it. it costs an extra $5 to flog it every week. and you will feel heaps better!
enjoy ashley
PS suzuki's aren't cheap

A forty litre tank !!!!
I thought all Sierras had a standard 2-5 litre sized dint in the fuel tank by now
When my Zook was stock I used to refuel at or around the 400km mark and never ran dry, so would assume that I was getting the same or slightly better economy than others have stated above.

You think your car drinks like a v8? Try driving a v8 then you'll see. Dat sounds almost right IMO. When I had my fairlane, I used to average up around 25 litres per 100km. That means on the same Sierra tank I'd be lucky to get 160 kilometres.

thats all I ever got out of my lwb after fitting a 1.3.
They are heavier than a swb.
I used to get 350 with the 1.o litre donk.
But accuracy of speedo, and with bigger wheels gearing changes and wind drag from lifts etc, and dented tanks, means it may not be as bad as you think.
I now have a 60litre tank and fill it at 400, tho I have got 450 without running out.
I have no fuel guage and fill by the trip meter.

Woot me to lol, my guage dont work either, its tripmeter for me to, prolly got busted when the tank 1/2ed in size, so every 200km i fill her up, prolly more like 21-220 real kms with the larger tyres though.
