LWB and SWB Part Interchangeability

Hi guys,

I'm after a LWB, and have found a rolling shell (inc. chassis). I am yet to inspect it to see whether it is past fixing, but it is being offered with a running SWB 1.3 (still need to check whether the LWB was a 1.0 or 1.3). I'm curious as to whether the SWB can be stripped of its running gear and doors etc to give the LWB a new lease on life. For those of you wondering 'why go to all that trouble?', I basically want a LWB becasue i feel that it will be more practical.

I realise that the rear drive shaft will be different, however is everything else the same - i.e. diffs, springs, shocks, etc?

Thanks for any help you might be able to give

Nick

Go have a chat with Tony at Tonys Autos Sandgate..... He will fill you in on the bits and pieces. I know that there was a LWB there a while ago just sitting in the cnr. Just waiting for a fix up.

Hypo if its the 1 with the metrocheck sticker on the back check out the front passenger side rear spring mount its trashed, but the rest looks good.
Nick I dont think Hypo is getting the top cause Tony tried to sell it to me, but to answer ur original question. Yes most parts can be changed over I got a lwb after my swb was written off. I swapped over diffs, springs shocks, tank, doors, seats etc.

The springs and shocks will be the same... however, the important parts like the SWB Body and SWB Chassis will not swap over. So unfortunately you will still end up with one very ugly sierra.
