On a 2.8, anythign is worth trying... Your better to do Zaust and Unichip, so if you can only afford to, do one at a time....

From what Ive read on the patrol list, depends who you talk to. Most say WOW.. others say waste of money..

I think it depends on how much better you are expecting. If you are expecting LARGE AMOUNTS of more neddies then waste of time.

get ur exhaust first .... then get ur unichip after then un can have it programmed up for the better performance ...

I have a 3" system on my GU ( 99 2.8TD) made a huge difference straight out of the carpark. very pleasent to drive. I now run 33's and always have about 400kg of gear in the back plus a rack with lights sticking up off it. It is still nice to drive (usually). plus now u can even hear the turbo spinning at idle thru the end of the pipe.

THE STANDARD EXHAUST ON A 2.8 IS THE SAME AS THE 4.2 HARD TO BELIVE BUT TRUE. CUT THE MUFFLER OUT AND PUT IN A PIECE OF PIPE THATS ALL I DID CHEAP AND GOOD POWER RETURN. PUT IN A CHIP AND 100KW IS NO PROBLEMS

Thats what i have found, it seems to have better acceleration then it did before and you just can't beat that noise.

To do it properly, get a 3" dump and exhaust with one small resonator, and then buy the chip. I custom made the dump/exhaust, made a new flange out of 10mm steel for the dump and used a 3" pipe/ bends, some cutting and welding though.

Together with some other custom made stuff, roller turbo, big pump, FMIC, LPG, it puts out close to 250hp

This is on a GQ with the RD28T engine.

That is the same as mine now minus the big square muffler.

I have a 3" dump straight from turbo, 3" all the way through with 1 hi-flow lukey muffler which basically does very little. Runs a treat.
