Hi I have just purchased a remote central locking kit from that evil kingdom called EBAY. I have a 1990 4RUNNER it has central locking via key in drivers door or using the lock/unlock button near the electric windows, the reason for the purchase was I want the remote feature, coming from HONG KONG it has "gweet enggwish instucktunes" and doesn't tell me how to wire it into an existing central locking kit. It is a "TIELAODA TJJ-2088R" any help would be great. I thought that splicing into the door lock/unlock button wire would be the easiest thing but can't manage to get the unit to create a signal that would make that work. Any help will be fine.

did this on the cruiser.

does the remote kit have built in relays, if not you'll have to wire up 2 relays as shown here:

http://www.miata.net/garage/pwrlock.htm

Then find the wires where they come through from the door and splice on to them. There are 2 wires and neither of them are grounded as the current is driven one way to lock and reversed to unlock.
