pre and post trip safety checks

Post by christover1 »

It's really worth having a look around your car before and after trips.
Was checking the diff oil when I noticed a 5mm gap between the rear spring and the perch.
A u-bolt nut had stripped, allowing the other 3 to slowly wind loose.
Leaking oil from the axle housing probably helped them along.
Wondered where I could feel the clunking from.
All fixed and all other spring related nuts/bolts front and back have been checked, now we are ready for the Zook Club Cup trip.
On the funny side, I'd had a haircut, shower, shave and shampoo, put clean clothes on then just finished up werking on the Zook :)

A more thorough safty check, would of saved me from the misshap I had on AT05, when I shot a break pad, blew a rear wheel cyinder and rolled off at great speed down fence line track with no breaks :?
It pays to check, and double check

You have a good point, I was out that way recently, and had a look at the battle scars on the Mock trees. Some trees don't stop zooks, but the bigger ones do :)
The funny side of Mocks excursion through fence and trees was...we fixed the fence, only to find it ended at bottom of the hill and obviously hasn't been used as a fence for a long time
