Hello jeep drivers,

i'm after some advice.

I've had my GQ for 7 years now and am thinking about a jeep wrangler.

So i'd like to build a jeep and keep my 36 centipedes.

What is needed on a jeep to keep these tyres?

How much suspension and body lift woudl i need? with or without chopping guards?

How much is a slip yoke eliminator? do i need one of these?

are the stock axles good enough? will the diffs take lockers that wont bust axles? Is the transfer case strong enough, or does that have to be replace?
are there diff ratios available here in aus?

Yes you will need a slip yoke eliminator, cost vaires and will depend if you fit it yourself. Fairly easy job to do, just is a bit time consuming.

I'm currently running the pedes on my TJ and I have been running 35's for almost 3 years now, my theory on the front diff is that when it breaks I'll do something about it but she is still ticking along nicely, with a locker in the front. Ratios are readily avaliable in AUS in an assortment of sizes.

In regards to lift you'll need to look at around the 5" in total, I'm big on suspension but you can eaily do it with some body lift as well. I run the 5.5" Rubicon express system and I pretty happy with it and it is what I recommend to most of my customers.

In saying that there will be other thingsa to keep ontop of like your front hubs and the steering, they will cope with the 35's but just.

I'm sure there will be more people with more adivce m8, so I'll leave a bit more to them, if you ever want to check out my TJ and see whatthe go is just let me know.

ATM I am doing a TJ that goes something like this.

All Black TJ (we have named it Black Betty)

Rock Crusher 60 diffs front and rear.
Custom 5 link front
Custom A frame rear
Fox 16" coil overs rear 14" coilovers front.
Custom front and rear coilover hoop mounts.
8 point rollcage with seat mounts.
Race seats and harnesess.
Custom 100 L fuel tank
Hydro assist steering.
Custom steering links.
Custom Hy-crossmember.
Custom 17" beedlocked rims.
37x13x17 Irock tyres.
Custom tube bars.
Custom tube front guards.


We also did pretty much the same when we built Fire Truck.

i run the 4.5" rubicon express with a 1" bl i personally wouldnt go any higher then this they also do a 3.5" re kit which proberly would of been perfect. i run 35" simex pedes.

What motor,gbox and tacse are you running that need dana 60 diff's

where is the car going with the 100litre fuel tank ? Im guessing its not being used for short course events/trips.

Would love to hear more about this 100L fuel tank, does it fit with a long arm kit?

Custom 100L tank will fit with long arm but is 1/2 through the floor at the back.
The driveline is standard ATM with an eliminator.
You dont have too fill the tank

Stock motor, gearbox and t-case.
The dana 60's are to hold up to the 37's and all the punishment it will take on the trails and in competiton

It is built for competition and also trail duties.
If you come out to Ozrock in December it should be there.

We have to show the owner the panel damage on the firetruck though to make sure he absolutely wants to go through with it. hehe

It is a very nice buildup with some amazing Cheezy work as per usual.
Definitely one to look out for.

Will be at OzRock on the Sunday. I heard all panel damage on the firetruck was a result of bad navigation...
