Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hey, is there a special technique that i need to use to get this oil pan back on? because i cant get the filter down under the fin and there for can not get it up on to the block

any help would be tops

is it the original sump?
The sump for the early motors (steel pickup) is different from the late motors (alloy pickup)

ummm, the sumps look almost identical, i will have toi have a closer look at that.
