Well made a start on my front tube bar this evening ....................

The thing is ,is that i dont have the money available at this prexent time for a winch (and as its only a few weeks away from my baby being born i dont think im even goin to have any for a long time    ) so do i ...........

A) make the bar to suit a winch and just deal with a little bit less of ideal aprroach angle just in case i somehow come into some cash and then have the funds to buy the winch.

OR

B) tuck the bar back nice and close to the truck , for as long as it takes to come by some cash (and be allowed to spend it on the mav) then just remake the bar and sell the first incarnation tube bar .................

I dont really know

At the present i have two templates for the mounting plates to suit either way :?

Ps is about 180 mm enough room for a xd9000 pound ??? 180 deep that is !

Cheers DAN

make it to suit the winch.
If you don't have air con, built it so the grille gets cut and the winch fits back into the hole. If you have air con, there isn't much point as you can only gain about 25-30mm at best.
My winch is hard against the grille to stop it rattling - datsun engineering..

I would build it to suit the winch now.
saves a lot of stuffing around later.

Build it to suit a High mount winch and have the best of both worlds.

Can you borrow a winch to get the size? That's what I am going to try to do.

Failing that get the measurements off the warn site and build it around that. Maybe even use those measurements to mock up a "winch" out of cardboard so you know it fits in there???
