I'm having a prick of a time sourcing a mid 80s supra with either a manual 7/5mge engine in it, in hobart they just dont exist or they can for the price of $2000 upwards. fk that.

If I could find something in VIC I'd be willing to drive up and get something done over there, but at this stage I just don't know what I can do. I'd obviously prefer something here in Tas but it just doesn't look like it's gonna happen.

What the fuck can I do?

Yeah definately go the importer route. You'd be mad to pay for an Aus delivered motor when the imports are so cheap.

I got my 1UZFE from www.sssautomotive.com.au

Hey ditch,
im just starting this conversion myself. (7mge into 89 dualcab)

Got my engine (low km jap import with loom bellhousing ecu and all accessories) from the for sale section on http://www.toymods.com.au for $900

5MGE engine mounts (needed to bolt 7MGE to 22R chassis post) from EWK toyota wreckers in melbourne for $80, these guys have alot of hard to find toyota parts. These are $128 each from toyota spare parts!!!!

Bellhousing try Mal Wood Auto in Warwick QLD. I tryed for 3 weeks to find a bellhousing in brisbane when one of the wreckers gave me mals number. He buys ALL the supra and celica boxes from all the wreckers in southen QLD and northen NSW to rebuild and trick up for the v8 boys, so he has no real need for the bellhousings, they just sit in the corner of his shop!!!

For a good read try http://www.supracharged.com its a large forum on this very conversion.

Cheers SASS
Stick it in low and NAIL IT !!!!!!!!!!
