Brake issue

Folks
I wanna know if anyone can give me some advise.
Some time ago I discovered my capilers were in poor shape and while they were out, I freed them up before putting them back together. All has been good for a while but the pedal seems to need pumping before I get a good pedal. I have bled them, then flushed out the old fluid, bled them again and again and they still need to be pumped to get a good pedal.
My question is;
*Can a sticky caliper cause a situation where the brakes need to be pumped?
I know that I need to overhaul the calipers soon but as they work OK atm I wanna know if it's worth bleeding them again or weather my prob could be caused by a sticky caliper.
Oh and I have just put a kit in the master cyl so that cant possible be the cause.
TIA
