The fuse for the windscreen wipers and washer keeps blowing. Any ideas where to start looking for the short in a GQ?

If the fuse blows as soon as the key is turned on then then you will need to disconect the wiper motor and the washer motors (the fuse suplies power to all of them) them re-connect each one individually to see which one blows the fuse. If the fuse blows with all units disconnected then the short is in one of the looms, most probably the one that goes along under the cover alongside the battery. Be carfull looking in behind that cover because the alluminium pipe above it is the air con high press pipe and it is worth a fortune if it gets broken.

The short could also be the wiring loom that goes to the back door if your unit has rear wipers and washers so these will also need to be ispected. I have a problem where the loom to th rear had a screw inserted into the loom under the sections that run along the floor on the right hand side.

the washer motors die pretty quickly, i would unclip them first and see. follow the tubes to see which is front and which is rear as the pumps are different. the rear cannot work bonnet sprayers no pressure :bad-words: i found out the hard way when i couldn't get a front pump, re wired it and found the pressure is shite.

cheers bru
