How much ???

Post by Shorty40 »

What distance should the uni be to the dust cover on a drive shaft ?

Basically how much shaft should be out or showing ?

How much does the shaft move from full droop to full compression ? (I understand all rigs will be different depending on mods - I am just after rough figures :) ) Bearing in mind it is a 40 series, springover, 60 series springs etc.

Is it true that if it is too close it can smash your gearbox on compression ? :?

thanks

Dan

The reason I ask is I just had a custom shaft done and it shows all the shaft right up til you can see the splines

<<------ BTW, you can see the flex in my avator ;)

if it's a toyota shaft and you can see splines it's too stretched. with that much flex you might need something custom with extra slip length to acommodate your max and min required lengths.
