Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Guys got carpet in me GQ havin water get in and it stinks was thinkin rippin out carpet and putting on some srayon or roll on polyurethane .
Rhino linings do it and its good but $$ would like to doit meself if possible.
In the US they have a few brands like herculiner etc anyone use these doit yourslef liners and wher i can get some?

I herculined the interior of my hilux. Wasn't too hard just took time preparing the surfaces etc.

$250 I think all up, with lots left over..

Tonka where did you get the herculiner from?

As for proffesional the car is a piece of crap and will be getin worse evry day i wheel so less money means less down the drain.
Ive had rhino linning b4 and it is a great product just cant justify the $$

Ordered it through 'Lynx' they are the distributer in Oz.

Someone has to mention the importance of not getting herculiner on your hootus...

On a serious note if you are trying to do it as cheaply as possible what about just ripping the carpet out then just using ordinary paint?

if the cars a peice of crap then whybother?

body sound deadner i think you will find doesnt dry 100 % and in hot conditions you may have a slippery mess......

Not a good choice for an interior application
This stuff doesnt "dry" as such and with the heat from the engine bay and zorst system you'll end up with it all over you and everywhere else that you dont want it.

For a really cheap substitute try 'Stoneguard', its what we use on the floors of the bash cars. It dries to a hardened finish yet still allows grip, looks smick, is very durable, and comes in a huge range of colors ( black & white )

It can be painted over if you really want that bling thing so the interior color matches the exterior color


The cans cost betwen $13.00 and $19.00 ( cheapest and the most I've paid to date ) and you'll need a specialised spraygun to spray it on.... the local panel shop will have one in its collection so unless you can sweet talk em into letting you borrow one then a donation may be required

Takes about half an hour to do the interior floor pan of a SWB 4x4 and around the same time for a sedan ( commodore )....... provided its CLEAN !. You'll need to mask up things that you dont want covered in the stuff, because of the design of the gun the "spray" is not as controled as one may think so you end up with little dots of stoneguard in some unusual places.

There are pics of my bash car and the end result of stoneguard applied to both the floorpan and my centre console here .......

I also pianted the rear parcel tray and the panel where the rear seat back usuall lives with stoneguard. These two panels are 3 ply timber "covers" but look the goods because of the stoneguard.

Remember this is a 'cheaper alternative' nothing can or will replace the high quality finishes of the more expensive products but its well worth a look at.

Super Cheap Auto do "Hippo Liner". Can either spray on or roll on. About $100 per container.

Hippo liner is the way to go. Im just about to do my tray and floor with it. Reserch tells me its great stuff

I herculined the inside of the G about 5 years ago or so. It has been very very durable. I have only torn it in one small spot where the rear door stay catches on it, but nowhere else.

The G leaks and frequently fills the passenger side with water, and such is the seal that with previous rust repairs, no other protection and 5 years of being parked outside, I have no rust or liner degredation on the floor.

It is a PITA to clean though. about the only way to do it is to scrub it with hot soapy water, and then wet vacuum it. It looks great then, but this is a big job. Otherwise it just looks, well, dirty.

went to super cheap here in the west and they have never heard of it? got a part number or plu by any chance?
