G'day all, i am making a soft top for the 40 and am wondering what everyone's opinion was on ways to tension it. What i am talking about is on the frame work of the soft top, i will be building in a tensioner on each leg (see pictures below). Do you think i should go the one with the screw in/out design or with the gas strut?? or none at all??
cheers,
Adam.

speaking from experience I can honestly say you will be better off having a fixed section. This means the screw in/out design is the better way to go. Although a gas strut is easier and quicker to fit/remove it is still a gas strut and can therefor move. They also lose thier resistance after a while.
Fitting a 'solid' bar will give you a better fit and less flap when high speeds are involved!
So I would definately go the bar with the screw in/out design!!!!
