modifying brake booster

im installing a nissan brake booster into the rocky however it has a bigger
diameter so it hits on the steering uni on the firewall.
can i grind some of it off or will it muck with the vacuum?
how would u move the unit 50mm to the left eg: By making a longer clevis pin, or not?
