Yesterday something broke in my gearbox. The gearstick is extremely sloppy and it's hard to find the gears. I can swing the gearstick underneath the glovebox and also under the steering wheel.
Somebody mentioned to me that the pin has broken, has anyone got any info on how to fix this?
At the moment I can only use 3rd and 4th gear
I somehow managed to find reverse today after a fair bit of smashing the stick around.

take the rubber boot of then under that there is another rubber seal that the stick goes though, remove it,then there is a metal cap that you have to remove with a 10mm spanner.(i think 10mm)there is 3 bolts holding the stick in.

once the stick is out, you will see a bolt that runs through the rear of the hole that the stick sits in. This bolt is supposed to have about a 8mm long stub on the end of it that locates the ball bit of the shifter. This has broken off. Replace this bolt and all will be well, you just want to make sure that when you pull the stick out, you find the little stub that has broken off. you don't really want that swimming around in your gearbox.
Plese note too t hat there are two sizes of bolt. I have come across 8mm bolts and 10mm bolts with no real rhyme or reason which goes with which model/year.
Buy a new bolt and a new shift sheet (the plastic bit that the ball of shifter sits down into, from a suzuki dealer or a specialist.
