Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Just a few questions on 4runners as i'm thinking of getting one,
Are they any good off road standard and is it easy/cheap to mod and lift them?
Are they cheap to run or do they guzzel the fuel?

Make sure you get a pre 86' Solid Front model....

Other than that, think station wagon with the heart of a hilux.
