Overflow bottle TB42 GQ - does height matter?

Hiyas,

No, this is not another request to find out where I can get a replacement overflow bottle.

I am installing a second battery and controller kit in the next week or so, now that I have all the parts. It's a bit of a bitch finding the best spot but I think that basically it has to go where the stock overflow bottle goes, plus I will move the coil just a bit to make room.

Two questions:

1. Does it matter if I relocate the overflow bottle so it is a few inches higher than the stock location? I am thinking I can mount it against the passenger side firewall with a longer hose. I don't think it should matter myself, but I just thought I'd check if anyone has a different view.

2. Regardless of the answer to question 1, what do you think about one of those aftermarket overflow bottles? They are of a shape that might be easier to fit, I think.

With most battery trays, the bracket actually fits around the overflow bottle.. Uses the same bolt holes.

Thanks.

I'll suss this out. I was kind of thinking it would be better further from the exhaust but maybe I'm being too cautious...

Cheers,

Awesome, thanks.

I think I may still do it differently but the pic is very helpful.

Thanks again for the pic Bruce, I started installing a tray today and am setting it up in pretty much the same way.

It's quite easy actually; there's more room there than I thought once you move the air intake plumbing out of the way.
