Tacho Install

Post by v840 »

Hi all,
I did a search but couldnt find anything so I though Id ask. How do you install a tachometer? After reading through some posts the consensus seems to be to connect it to the coil. Is this right?
The tacho I have has 5 wires coming from it, red, pink, white, green and black. Im assuming that the black one is earth but I have nfi what the other ones are.
It is a Matrix tacho that is getting connected to a 327 chev with electronic ignition.
All help appreciated!

yeh, im pretty sure thats the same way mine is wired up... just make sure you have the switch on the back on the right setting (if it has one)

mine is verry tempremental, sometimes it works, and then majority of the time it wont... generaly works with low revs. hitting it also wont make it work.
