G’day all

Looking at buying a hilux.
Currently I am driving a 92 sierra, awesome off road performance, painful on road with no space to boot.

Was thinking of a mid 90’s extra cab 2.8TD.
What’s the average mileage you get out of theses?
In regards to suspension, when weighing up on and off road ability and on road comfort, which would come out ahead, leaf or IFS?
How much work has to be done to run 35s?

Any info you guys have would be much appreciated, trying to do as much research as I can before buying….

Cheers
Daniel

If you are looking at an extra cab I believe these only came out in IFS so it makes the decision on IFS verses Leaf front easy.

I would get the leaf sprung single or dual cab myself as the extra off road capability far outways any onroad comfort if there is any as I have been in a mates IFS and cant tell the difference between his and my leaf front end on the road.

Just my 2c worth anyways

there was no such engine as the 2.8TD

It came out factory as a 2.8Liter Diesel (model no: 3L)

people put aftermarket turbo's on them.

if i had a dollar for every time someone else or myself has said that

For millage they get about 230-250 or 300 if your lucky
and go for solid axle front
if you think the zook is good offroad then you will think a lux is insane :D
