Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hi just wondering if anyone has a fitted water tank in a HiLux D-Cab (2002+).........

Looking around at what is out there........

Thinking of trying to see if I can get something behind the back seat......... or may have to look at underneath or last resort over the hubs in the tub (would preferto keep the tub for storage)

if you don't want to get fiscally reamed by the specialist fourby shops for a product that is name branded, try going to camec (caravan suppliers), boat suppliers etc for collapsible water bladders or rotomoulded plastic containers in almost any size or shape you could imagine....

then just choose one that would fit wherever you want.

Hay.... most people I know with fitted water tanks have aluminium / steel...

I have looked at the vinyl types on the some of the fourby sites. How do these stand up to the rigours of off-roading?

Anyone out there got the collapsible bladder types in there vehicles?

being a plumber i made and fitted two water tanks made 0f 100 mm unleaded pipe under the tray (alluminium tray with extended brackets)
i didn't know they had bladers, top idea!

i imagine the vinyl type would have a similar strength durability as any plastic moulded diesel/water jerry on the market. I took to using several 20 dollar 20l plastic water jerrys as it means that if one pops a leak you don't lose all your water.

as for the collapsible tanks, the sales folk recommended that you place them in an enclosure that would protect it from punctures (imagine 100 litres of water inside your dual cab.) It needs only be in the form of a MDF box etc. the beauty of these type is that you can get a larger capacity bladder than you need, but you don't have to fill it to capacity and it will mould itselft to odd shape cavities like rear passenger footwells.
