Outer Limits 4x4 Board

My 93 Rocky wouldnt engage 4wd properly... the green light would not come on by the push button or by the 4L lever.
We could get it to engage by fiddling round with the vacuum hoses above the transfer case.. and low range also worked... but i wanted to get it fixed.

I dropped it off at the 4wd specialist near me yesterday morning.. and i havn't got it back yet I miss it... lol
He said it wasnt the switch or any vacuum problem.. they were gonna pull the case off and have a look I always thought this meant big money.. He said it may be the 'plunger' or sumthing inside.

I know it isnt too major, coz we could get it in 4wd and nothing was wrong... just the selection was buggered..

I'll let you guys know the damage.. hopefully this afternoon

i think my rocky had the same sorta deal happenning...just had to zip tie the vacumm hose onto the transfer...
THEN
something happened and it i lost 4x4 again this time it was the vacuum operating solenoids which the auto eleccy replaced from my spare parts
bucket, and fabbed up one from an airconditioner/refrigeration unit..

all sweet as now

I just got back from them and the vacuum switch on the transfer case needs replacing, all the lines need to be blown out and a vacuum system overhaul basically....
They are putting a new switch in rather than a second hand one..

Gonna cost me $950

I was thinkin a couple of hundred... I get her back tomorrow
