hey guys, can anybody give me some advise on what battery tray to use for a swb maverick. I have been told by the guys at arb that the diesel tray will fit in my petrol engine bay in the standard position. They told me it would allow me to run a bigger battery (apparently the diesel tray is bigger). But they said that you need to modify the air intake. Has anyone done this and how much modifying is their, (pics would be great)
thanks in advance

It all depends on where the Intake on the petrol runs. I thought they used the same snorkel. So if thats true it shouldnt be hard to just push the intake hose around abit and fit it.
The tray for the TD42 sits on the passenger side inner guard and uses the 2 bolts for the radiator overflow tank and a couple of factory holes (with nuts) on the inner guard itself.
Would take pics of mine but its hard to get the bonnet up at the moment.

The pre-cleaner on a petrol gets in the way of the second battery, but it's pretty easy to move it over and get some round hose to make it reach the guard.

last time i looked, i thought the coil may need relocating, other than that looks pretty straight forward,

I just installed a home-made cradle for a second battery and it was indeed necessary to move the coil slightly. I basically just stood it up instead of having it on its side.
My engine bay is a bit cramped over there as part of the LPG system is mounted in the corner of the engine bay between the firewall and the coil.
