Having trouble adjusting valve clearances on 1hz. Have checked cam lobes etc, but seem to need shims larger than can buy. Have been told by Toyota Springwood thickest shim is only 3.15, however reading in manual & on web thickest shim is 3.3. Any help appreciated!!!!!! P.s. sorry about stuff up with photo and double post problem! Not very good @ computer shit! Pps still think lockednlimo is a bumpy big prick!

Try a different dealer - or pay them to fix it. I had one shim measured a full mm out of spec - turns out a valve bucket ($39.95 at toyota) was to blame. Let them fix it and enjoy the warranty...
Cheers!

Just wondering how much Mr Toyota charges for this adjustment? I suppose it would vary according to shims required etc, but roughly what are they charging for this type of work??
thanks
