A quick one as the search gave me nothing...
Does anybody know if the turbo from a 4JG2 3.1 TD Trooper engine is a straight bolt on swap to the 2.8 4JB1 TD engine?
Thanks.

yes and no, the 4jg2 turbo is a non serviceable unit and the intake housing is pointing outwards more but can be fitted using the intercooler and piping.
The 4jb1 unit is servicable and the hosing can be rotated to fit the intercooler... (but this dosn't matter in your case)
If the turbo was off a non intercooled 4jg2 (MU) the it would bolt straight on, as these point in the right direction.
Hope this helps ya

Hi..
what is the max boost for you guys?
My mech had adjusted(open the wastegate more) my wastegate slightly, my max boost is now 1.1 bar. Had not touched fuel pump yet. Can feel difference.
He told me that it can be further improved by tuning fuel pump, making max boost to 1.5 bar. (stock turbo, fyi I driving 4JG2)
Will tune my fuel pump soon and post my results.

I must have a servicable turbo on my 4jg2 as i had it high flowed i currently run 13 psi with plenty of power and no probs it has been runnin that way for about 9 months now i haven't touched the injector pump as i have had no need to try puttin a 2.5 inch exhaust on it from the turbo back no muffler it gets a bit of a bark up at about 2000 rpm but its not that loud and it is worth the extra power. i tow a 2 tonne trailer twice a week with no problem at all
