Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hi Guys,

I've asked this before a while back, got plenty on answers, but unfortunately not the one i'm looking for

Wondering if anyone here has a similar car to mine and can take a pic (or describe in a way my feeble mind understands) where the vacuume hose from the charcoal canister attaches to the intake manifold or carby....

A mate has the 1298cc sierra and his canister hose goes to a point on the passenger side of the carby (where he has 2 points to connect to) i only have one there, already taken

His vacuume hose setup looks VERY different to mine anyway, so his is probably not a good example to look at...

I guess, what would be better, if anyone has a diagram where all the hoses go... as when i have the lights on at idle, there is a little green valve-thing that buzzes - but only at idle - i THINK it's the idle up valve, but why it buzzes is ???? - maybe it's because somewhere there is an open point for that charcoal canister causing a vacuume leak...
or maybe the hoses are all plugged in to totally wrong points :(

any help (especially photos) would be VERY much appreciated!!

not 100% sure which carby i have (asin??) but i'll look when i get home

Its quite possible somebody has put the carby on without the spacer.
If so you wouldnt see it, cos it's not there. Mine was like that when I got it, and it took ages to figure out.
The spacer is part of the carby heating system, fed by hot water from the cooling system. Also a function of air intake.
If its not there, it will never run right.
Not all carbs are the same set up, and mine has a lot of hoses blocked off cos its a 1300 conversion to a 1.o litre.

(stupid mode) the carby bolts are the right length.. does that help eliminate your scenario? (i guess they could have used different bolts too.)

Damnit - maybe the corolla carb WOULD be easier.....

heres mine, but as I said, mines different.
I don't use most, and mine has 3 near the place you have one

Started poking around last night - pretty much ALL of my hoses are perished, and basically fell off :(
took the carby off - and STILL can't find a place on either the carby or the manifold to plug the charcoal canister into...

hopefully suzisport or someone can help :(

Try teeing it into the other one

yeah - had a bit of a play around and i THINK i've found where it should go (connects to an actuator type thing??) but then i don't know where some other hoses go, it's all a bit of a mess (though, it still runs)

but the local wrecker is getting TWO sierras tomorrow, so i'll check it out and take notes
