just want to know what everyone thinks of running 12.5" tyres on a 10" rim? Is the side wall more prone to damage? Am better off running an 8" rim or am i worrying to much?

I found that running my 12.5 pedes on 10" rims it dropped beads really easily....

Ran 36" swampers on my 78 series on 10" alloys, drove much better than 8" rims, never lost a bead, even at 8 psi, dry fitted on rims, with tubes.

Running my 40x16.5's on 10" rims on my GU ute, drive ok, was running 37 x 13.5 xterrains on 10" rims, drove really nice, dry fitted, never lost a bead, with tubes, didnt like these tyres on 8" or 9" rims as much as on the 10" rims, and the side of the car is better protected with 10" rims, as well as scrub steer improving in slippery conditions, by lengthening, and shortening the chassis each side more, when turning, with more offset.

Go the 10", stop worrying ;-)

Would depend on the tyre and its sidewall strength.

I run 37/12.5/16 Creepies on 8" rims and they hold on beautifully - even as low as 5psi. But they are a tuff tyre.

MT/Rs tend to bag out much more but I would have thouht that the bead would hold better on an 8" compared with a 10".

Best to let us know what tyre you are running/planning to run. There is no doubt someone on here with the same combo ;)

im chasing a set of 35x12.5 creepys as a 2nd and was under the impression a wider tyre would hold to an 8" rim at lower PSI?

im leaning toward an 8" also so i can bag it out for traction

id b running them on 8" if u dont plan on locking the beads down, coz if u run them on unlocked 10's the low pressure u will b running on the zook they will loose the beads all the time.....

I would be putting them on 8s.

I also have MT/Rs and have run them at 12psi with no beadlocks...but they bag out HEAPS.
