Outer Limits 4x4 Board

well I've decided that I'm going to respray my road rims because they look shabby .... the point where i come for help is remove the tyres to spray the rims

is there any tips i should know ?????

marrk each tyre and rim, and where the balance weights and valve holes are, so you can fit them back on and hopefully they'll still be in balance.
Also take note which way around they go i.e. inside to inside of rim etc.

Normal rims / split rims?

Normal rims, just make sure you work from the rim edge closest to
where the bead of the tyre sits loose... 99% are from the front.
To pop the beads, run them over

Split rims, unless you know what your doing, best go to a pro...
*Always blow up a split rim in a cage

Why take the tyre off the rim??

Let all the air out of the tyre.. push the sidewall in and put newspaper between the tyre and the rim... that way you dont get paint on your tyre and you dont have to completely remove it

Otherwise.. go to your local tyre shop and they'll charge you a few bucks to take them off and then to put them back on.

Why even bother lettin' the air out? Just mask carefully around the edge with masking tape and newspaper.

For years I've used appliance white ENAMEL paint, after cleaning and rubbing back. Several thin coats and hit it with a hair dryer after each one.

Should find it'll give as good a job as off the shelf new wheels if you prep properly.
