Well Aki has received his set now and has put it in his website there's even a pic of Baz assembling Swartzy's t/case.
I'm just waiting to hear how the install goes.

You can use Alta Vista Translator to decipher some of the writing.

If this all goes well his mate (who runs a 4x4 shop) will order 10 sets and a big run of these will be done at a price the same as a set of Nissan gears.
He also has done the Gen 1 V6 front diff conversion to his Gen 2 in anticipation for the ARB front locker. He bought a Gen 1 V6 wreck that had been used for some rally work and found it had 5.29's and a front lsd for $700 Aus !!! He removed his small front 5.29 diff and installed the larger Gen 1 diff, the install is very straight foward, just a few new holes drilled for mounting, the existing CV's and axles are also used. The super select vacuum lines are just plugged.

Hi nam,

yes i know that but what I was getting at was initially ARB said it would be available this year (2003) now it seems to be next year. I just hope that ARB dont become another Mcnamara or 4wd systems in Adelaide (ie yea its coming , coming , coming ) & we are all waiting ... waiting ..... waiting..... 4 ever.

cheers

G'day Ian I haven't heard anymore since that memo was released but I believe they are taking orders try emailing Greg Milton.
There also is a strong rumour that they are going to develop a rear 3.5 locker after the front one is completed (don't know how true this is). This is pparently because of the good NM sales levels. I haven't managed to work out if the IRS rear diff centre is the same as the live axle version. I don't think it is and this may really put them off. The crownwheels are compatible but the diff cases are different part no's :?:

Yeah I looked at the IRS diff when it first came out, & it certainly looks like a different beast than the other 3.5l diffs, I reckon that they would not be compatible.
