Currently trying to decide between an auto 4.2 Diesel or a Manual. Question; how is the auto for towing?

Also with either vehicle I want to beef up the suspension, I'm off to Karratha (North of WA) :? and alot of access roads with corrugations. Any advice on the Shocky combo I should go for. Next is dual battery set up. any advice on what product and where to go to get it done.

Then we go to window tint, the darker the better?

Mechanically I would like to renew all the oils, whats best for Diff, Gearvox/transfer case and engine. The 4.2 diesel has done 185ks but has had reguilar and quality servicing since 40k and by the same mechanic. This one is a 95 and I am looking at picking it up for around $14.5k.

Hope someone can help with advise.

Cheers

hey mate,
personally id go for the manual, but either way you should have no real probs towing...well towing what...a caravan id prolly get a turbo installed, i have a schwitzer turbo from turbo dynamics and its great, never had a problem, um ive been through a few shocks in my gq and im now using tough dog ralphs in the front and tough dog adjustables in the rear and they handle corrogations really well, they dont get boiling hot like the smaller bore and bodied ones, ive just moved from darwin to brissie a week ago so they were real good on the roads up there, as for oils do a search for the best oils, its been discussed plenty of times and youll find one that best suits your needs, as for the price you could prolly pick one up for a little cheaper if ya looked around, you can get GUs for around that now if ya know where to look, (melbourne), but yeah hope ive been some help
cheers

If you can get one at that price where you live that's pretty good.

While you might save a few quid in puchasing transportation costs back would be heaps....

Towing What exactly? I own an auto, and would never go back, specially out that way..

Lovely place, nothing there, had to go there for work from Shitney one.. was interesting gettin there!
alot of access roads with corrugations. Any advice on the Shocky combo I should go for.
Any shocks will take a pounding out there. You want something like LTR's with remote canister to keep oil cool.. but what ever you get will take a hammering.
Next is dual battery set up. any advice on what product and where to go to get it done.
100's to choose from all have + and - Good luck! Piranha have a good one..

Better for?

depends on manual or auto.. Oil will depend on what you can get in Karratha too. Shell Rimula X seems to be very good.

just run in.. sounds too good to be true, is it a Jap Import?
