GQ Tie-rod end help

Did these change during a year somewhere?
The ones on my 96 GQ TD4.2 are female threads and the tie-rod is male both ends, yet a spare parts shop tells me it should be the opposite with male tie-rodends and female tie-bar ends, like on my MQ??
Whats going on?
Cheers

Yes the early GQ's had male tierod ends. Not sure what year they changed to your type.

Bugger! They probably did that to sell more genuine bit's

Doubt I will find any $30 models out there now.
Thanks for the info.

Just thinking this over. Does anyone know if the MQ and the GQ tiebars are the same length? I may be able to swap them over and beat the Bs at their own game. The MQ will probably end up at the wreckers sooner rather than later anyway.

It will end up being much cheaper to by a new HD tie rod from one of the many suppliers than buy new female tie rod ends.
Last I checked they are about 160 EACH!!!
Our H.D 4140 tie rod with big solid male tie rod ends to suit your car are 265 plus postage. There is no real need to retain the female ends. They are beefy but so are our aftermarket tie rod ends
