Outer Limits 4x4 Board

I'm installing a lift kit in my hilux, and all was going smooth untill i came across some bolts in the crossmember that i cant get undone. I tried a breaker bar, but theres not enough room to manourve. I've sprayed it with wd40 etc am will give it another crack later.

Any ideas or suggestions on how to get the bastards off?

Try a bigger breaker bar , otherwise use a bit of heat from the oxy if required.

what bolts involved in a lift kit go though the xmember???? pls explain more... anyways regardless it might have locktight on it, try heating first


dont use to big of a bar... its not always the best option.. nothan worse than tryin to ezy-out a farkin snapped bolt...
can u get hold of a rattle gun??

if it is tight hit the head of the bolt head on with a hammer acouple of times it helps loosen it up

Get a breaker bar, and a bigger bar onto that and step on it.

I will give it a burl with the rattle gun 2nite, didnt wanna crank it up at 10pm last night.

shock loading is the key, putting constant force on it with a huge bar is just going to break it - trust me I have snapped wheel studs doing it.

breaker bar with a hammer - jack the car up if you have to.

Are toughdog srpings any good? any opne had experience with them?

have never had a problem with though dog springs, would reccomend them to anyone

Heat is the best remedie for siezed bolts trust me i am a fitter

I have worked on fishboat winches that had bolts rusted big time , heat was the only thing that would crack them.

U dont need a great deal of heat , i had a trailing arm bolt on my 4b sieze .

I bout a $40 butane tourch in worked a treat , it has disposable butane cans
