UHF repair

My TX3200 UHF radio has stoped working. Will not power up.
I am an electrciain and have checked the obviouse things.
It simply won't power up / register anything.
Does anyone know a good place to take it to to get fixed in Brisbane.
Also it's only 3-4 years old. Has anyone else had theres go this quick and what did they do?

They do carry a warrenty for atlease 12 months.
With the electrophone gear they seem to be hit and miss, You may get one that will work forever and i have had heaps come back to me normally within the first month, I have had heaps come back to me with blown TX modules as they dont like being used tomuch as these days people like to talk heaps and don't give the radio enbough time to cool down.
I would try to get this fixed or replaced under warrenty.

Correct. maybe i should learn how to read.
There is also a company in brisban called VERTEL and they may be able to help with the repaires.

Pulled it appart last night fiddled, and put it back together and it works again.
Not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing.
Will give it a good test on the weekend.
Just hope it doesn't work right up to the day I leave for my road trip at Christmass and then pack it in.

Bruiser,
Maybe buy yourself a cheap hand-held for backup?
I have one of those unidens for $99 odd - its cheap backup.

Sam i have a TX4300?? The one with the remote head. It was working fine and i hardly ever use it but the other week when driving from Bris to Singleton the screen stopped working. Is this Common? Is it a Cheap easy fix? I can still receive but just dont know what channel im on. I havent tested if it Transmits.

Ruff, you mean the TX3400 the slim remote head. What you want to do is clean the contacts between the PCB and the LCD. Use Isopropyl alcohol or similar.

Sam just to let you know. It didnt need cleaning. The board had actually became unclipped from the screen. It appears the board may have been cut slightly wrong where the metal clips go through the middle of it to hold the screen against it. Just a little tweaking of the clips has fixed it. Thanks for the suggestion anyway. If you didnt suggest it i prob would have got shafted getting someone else to fix it

No problems ruff, a lot of 3200/3400 have lcd problems and only really need a "tweak" like you say to fix.

Hey i also noticed while i had the 3400 appart the only real difference is the rear cover on the detachable face and an extension lead. So can you buy these parts seperatly to convert a 3200 to a detachable head?
