I did a search and found a little info, just after a bit more.

Had gas kit put on, ran a fair bit worse, sluggish low revs (idle to 2100rpm) then okay (2100 to 3300) then loses power after that - still revs but slowly and doesn't pull very well. Also power surges - up hill, say 4th gear 90 k's, you can hear the engine revs 'pulsing', and also feel it physically. Each pulse or surge about 2 secs apart.

Fuel economy on a trip which would normally use $25 petty / approx 21 L, (about 150 kms) , it used $37.50 / approx 65L of gas.

Sound right???

Yeeaahh, not real happy, i'll give the guy a chance to fix it before i tell all the details (there is more), but has anyones kit ever been that bad? I assume he's just set it waaaaay too rich, but i'm not gonna touch anything yet, because for $2850 you shouldn't have to.

This happened to anyone else??

Cheers,
Rob

Is it a 4 litre petrol or 4.5 litre petrol? I used have an FZJ75 Series (4.5 ltr) and your figures seem way out. From memory I used to get 450 - 500 kms out of 120 litres of gas.

Definately sounds like there is something wrong.

I was really happy with my conversion. Just make sure it has a wet suit type sleeve over the whole in the air intake so if it back fires (mine used to back fire when the engine bay got wet) it releases the pressure prior to stuffing the sensor in the air intake. Also make sure you get your valve clearances checked at the recommended intervals.

Cheers.
