Turbo Water Plumbing

Right doing a bit of a budget turbo on a Toyota 3B. Its water/oil cooled Garret type

Had a look at a roolly nice AXT kit on the same donk last night, all braided hoses etc etc.
Had solid looking t-pieces for the water lines that screwed into the motor (water pump out, heater return in) figured out the order but have a Q:
Will I get away with using t-pieces in the flexy hose lines just with clamp instead, dont reckon there'd be much more water pressure?
Is there a benefit to having the fork in the lines as close to the 'source' as possible?
Or am I best off to hunt down the right fittings/get some made up..

i'm doing the same thing to the same motor. i'm using a garrett gt17. i have removed the heater so am using the heater supply and return lines. for oil i have put a t-piece in the pressure guage port and welded a 3/8bsp socket onto the sump for oil return. which turbo are you using??? i hope mine is big enough, i'll find out in the next 2 weeks when i get the oil hose made and fire it up.

I would suggest that it uses braided lines with threaded fittings for reliability rather than pressure handling. Having a reliable supply of coolant and oil would be pretty important to a turbo :)
