Is the shock too long for the right rear?
or is there another reason?

Heh? Dunno! I bought my LJ70 (bundy) and it had 80's springs fitted all round. No real problem but I changed them all after a few weeks anyway.

I can see no reason why the 80# front spring wont fit into the bundys rear right. It has the same size mounts in the chassis and on the diff housing.

The original question related to shocks not coils, the Bundy uses eye bottom and pin top mounts on all but the right rear shock which is eye-eye (captain :) ) I think that is where the problem is (I don't know what attatchment styles the 80 uses).

Anyway there is no problem. I run front 80 coils all around, and front 80 shocks too.
You'll just have to weld in some sort of "pad" where upper shock mount (pin) goes through.
