Is there something wrong with it?

If ther isnt I wouldnt remove it unless you wanted the room for something else.

It is there to make life easier for you ;)

I had a fiddle with my clutch master today.. looks like they can't be changed to non assisted type

Big price difference betwee the two. Non assisted is much cheaper

had to fork out for a replacement one, as my clutch pedal kept coming and going. But with new one in there I can actually feel pedal again!

Exactly. Why change it if it is working fine? It's there for a reason. Probably the engineers couldn't figure out the ratios for the hydaulics and thought, stuff it, lets booster it. If it is playing up, order part number NI-30684-01J25 from Nissan for the rebuild kit. It's only $15.06 inc GST. Cheapest thing Nissan sell!

The booster is a great setup for the clutch,

I have had to drive mine home without the booster working (damaged vac line) and it was as hard as hell to push the clutch in without the power assistance.

GQ's run a very large clutch and it is very heavy, just disconnect the vacume assembly and take it for a run, see how hard it is, thats what it will be like if you go to non-powered setup.

Really the Pro's are, It makes the clutch alot lighter

Con's are really none, you can still use the clutch if the vacume fails,

I was looking at changing it because my clutch was playing silly buggers on me, but seeing how it was only the master cylinder i don't have to worry about it anymore !

Alot of cars and 4x4's use hydrolic clutches, the only difference is the Patrol one is power assisted. So all you would have done was swap out the master cylinder to a non power assisted one.

I haven't got an assisted clutch on my DX 88 diesel Shorty. Not much harder than my bro in laws 96' dx Diesel Ute with assisted clutch. I actually rather drive mine...

Why would those ones be so heavy without the assistance...
